Album & Cover
Caught in the Crossfire is the debut solo album by the English rock musician John Wetton, released by E.G. Records. Featuring guitarist Martin Barre of Jethro Tull, drummer Simon Kirke of Bad Company as well as saxophonist Malcolm Duncan, the album’s release took place in a transitional spell after Wetton had left U.K. but before he had formed Asia.

This is a black & white photograph printed with block colour taken from an idea by Storm Thorgerson. The cover resembled a child’s block painting kit with John Wetton’s image showing through. For the 7″ single ‘I’ll Be There’ the image was of a soft focus Wetton against a sharp background image of horizontal lines to portray a forwards motion for his career and it did as he became a member of Asia…
