Humble Pie – Town And Country(1969)

Biography
Humble Pie were an English rock band formed by Steve Marriott, in Essex during 1969. They are known as one of the late 1960s’ first supergroups and found success on both sides of the Atlantic with such songs as “Black Coffee”, “30 Days in the Hole”, “I Don’t Need No Doctor” and “Natural Born Bugie”. The original band line-up featured lead vocalist and guitarist Steve Marriott from the Small Faces, vocalist and guitarist Peter Frampton from The Herd, former Spooky Tooth bassist Greg Ridley and a seventeen-year-old drummer, Jerry Shirley. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Humble_Pie

Album & Cover
Town and Country was Humble Pie’s second studio album. Conceived at Steve Marriott’s 16th century “Arkesden” cottage in Moreton, Essex, England, “Town and Country” offered different approach for Humble Pie. The finished LP was a departure from the “heavy” sound prevalent on Humble Pie’s first album. Humble Pie’s effort blended these elements into a tasteful, and very listenable, record. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Town_and_Country_(album)

The cover photograph was take by Aubrey Powell in Peter Frampton’s flat in London, he and Greg Ridley lived in the town ( as seen on the front cover) and Steve and Jerry Shirley lived in the country (as seen on the back cover), hence the name of the album ‘Town And Country’.
